I’m Sad Today

This is a not a fun post to write. I do not like to be sad, and I am very sad today. Richard Goldwater passed away. He had been ill a long time, but I didn’t expect him to be gone so suddenly. 

 

As you can imagine things are not normal here. There are a lot of tears and sad faces around town and in the halls at school.  Folks have been calling from all over just to check on us. I heard from Josie and Sabrina last night. Mr. Goldwater was instrumental in adding them to the Archie Comics family. That’s what Archie Comics is, you know, a family – one that Richard Goldwater helped build and I am glad to be part of. 

 

I know that smiles will return to Riverdale soon… but not today.

Some kids think it's pretty funny that I still like DBZ. (In KINDERGARTEN it was the "in" thing!) I don't mind, though. I myself think it could've used more action, but I've learned a lot from it and others like it! For instance, did you know that cats have sensitive mouths and can't eat anything hot? Or that Sugar Maple looks an awful lot like Japanese Maple? Or that there is such a thing as ninja dogs? Okay, you get the idea. So, if anyone teases you guys about reading Archie comics, just say that Archie comics are real groovy!

No, no Sashi and HSM/HMFAN, don't feel bad. I read your comments and like some of you guys I was excited to that we have that in common. Truth is I am so thrilled you guys brought up your comments that you are Christians and Catholics because ....

(here's my confession) seems everwhere else online and where I play online, I don't meet other Christians and Catholics. Unless i don't know they are. They haven't told me. And when I came here, since we all love Archie and the friends,I also got excited to learn that Jughead goes ot church too. I read that in a blog of his. It is so much fun coming here everyday and can't wait to read what Betty, Veronica and the dudes say in their blogs for us.

What bugs is that whenever there is a talk about religion, there is always at least someone who pops in and starts problems. Like one time, this guy I was friends with just turned on me just because I said, "I have to go now. My family and I have to go to church later" and he goes, "Oh, your one of those" and he was rude. For no reason! I had always respected him just like my friends at the time and my friends were non-religious and one was a pagan. We have our own religion and we respected each other. And by doing that (respect) we had so much fun joking around and helping each other out in the game we played. They are not my friends anymore but only because It seems they really didn't care about me as a friend.

When I read peace_and_love's post "REGGIE IS A JERK!!!" it made me laugh! I was reading some of the other posts here until out of the blue, I read up to that part! LOL!!! Thanks peace and love for cheering me up.

Even our forefather's believed in God. Have you looked in the dollar bills? "In God we trust." He is even mentioned in "The Constitution."

Anyway, let's all not loose our respect to each other. Obviously, we posted we are excited to meet other Christians and Catholics (I know i am) but lets us not disrespect anyone. We should care about each other as human beings. :=D Look at Archie and his friends had mentioned in past blogs that they had attended Church and look, they love us for who we are. That's the example we all should do: Love everyone no matter what religion or faults they have. I'm guessing that's what Mr. Montana and Mr. Goldwater where trying to show us. I think even Author Professor C.S. Lewis in his novels. Look at the generations of Archie stories they have shared with us? Good wholesome stories. So, let's not lose that...this world is already messed up as it is. Let's not join in in it. :=( So please, if it's an issue to you, keep it to yourself. I'm sick of seeing this being an issue.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Richard Goldwater is a great man. He'll be remember forever. I lost my cousin, Denise W. She's been battling breast cancer. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All women must see a doctor for a check-up. Mr. Goldwater will be a friend to Archie comics forever.
