Does This Seem Fair To You?

Okay, I don’t want to sound like I’m jealous or anything – cause I’m NOT.  But, hel-looooo, Betty gets a surprise party – a GREAT one, mind you.  AND jewelry.  AND a CD that Archie burned himself.

And what did I get for MY birthday?  License plate frames. The tackiest ones on the planet!!

I’m not mad at Bets. It’s not her fault. She deserved every happy good thing that happened last night! But, wouldn’t you think Archie could try just a little bit harder when it comes to ME????

My birthday is March 19th. MAYBE if you ALL start sending hints to Archie NOW, he might get it right next time!!!!

Feelin’ Kinda Slighted,

Ronnie

P.S. Betty LOVED my present, by the way. I got her a new cycling outfit.  Oh, and that thing she asked Archie for in Science Lab? The one I said was such a lame gift? Well, she got it. Nancy bought it for her when we went to R&D Cycles. You know what it is?

A bell for her bike.  It goes “ching ching”.

She LOVED it!

The Judge For Week 7

Veronicareading We all met at Pop’s last night for the weekly Straw Drawing to determine who gets to judge the entries for Week 7: Girls vs. Boys Bowl-A-Thon.

We had another HUGE turnout; I just can’t imagine where all these people are coming from!  It’s VERY exciting, but a teensy little part of me kinda wishes some of them would go away BECAUSE with so many people drawing straws, I may NEVER get a chance to be the judge!

So, this week, the drawing was won by DILTON! He was very happy and immediately went to work on a building a scientific and unbiased formula for choosing the winner! LOL Gotta love that Dilton!

Good luck to all of Week 7’s contestants.

Now click on over to Bet’s blog to learn about Week 8’s Story – this one is UNIQUE!

Ronnie

P.S. Pop Tate said he’s almost made his decision on The Big Zoo Boo Boo. He’ll announce the winner this weekend!

Beauty DON’T #1

Veronicafashionrules NEVER sleep in your makeup – I don’t care if you only use a little. You’ll wake up the next morning with clogged pores, icky feeling skin and scratchy irritated eyes.  (I won’t even go into the mess makeup leaves on pretty bed linens!)

Take a few minutes every night to cleanse your face before bedtime.  It needs to rest, too!

Shopping For The Birthday Girl

So, the thing Betty wants for her birthday can only be found at a bike shop. (You have NO idea how long it took me to figure that out!) Since I DO NOT know Thing One about a bike shop, I asked Nancy to go with me. Hey, you have to LOVE sports if you’re gonna date Chuck Clayton!

So, she took me to R&D Cycle – which is probably the ONLY store I’ve never been to in Riverdale… except maybe the car parts store.  I was expecting it to be, you know – boring - but it was pretty COOL! In fact, I decided to give this bicycling thing a try! Now, don’t misunderstand - I’ve ridden a bike before, when I was little. I had an adorable pink bike with flowers on it and long glittery streamers.  But I’m grown up now and THIS is biking on a whole new level!

Note to Faux Veronica: Ditch that icky Nick and get yourself one of THESE bikes!

So, I walked up to the Bike Clerk Person and I said, “I want the most expensive bike you have for a girl. I’d like it to be pretty and I don’t want something “off the rack” – I want you to order it for me.”

At that point, Nancy took over and helped him with all the boring technical stuff while I shopped for BICYCLING CLOTHES!!! They are Soooooooo CUTE! I bought six new outfits! I can’t wait to get my bike so I can show them off.

What did Nancy and I get Bets?  You’ll just have to wait until her birthday to find out. (She reads this blog, you know!)

Love,

Veronica

This Is Soooo Not Cool!

I just talked to our bloggy fairy godmother, Patty, and do you know what she told me?  SOMEONE has been sending in comments POSING AS ME!!!!!!! Of course, she hasn’t posted them because that would just be confusing!

As you can imagine, I’m a little touchy about the whole imposter issue especially since The Faux Duo hit Riverdale.  Soooo, I can’t believe ANYONE would have the poor taste to write in as me AGAIN! (I also learned that someone has been trying to pose as Moose and Ethel, too!  That confuses me a little.)

So, my dear Identity Thief, this is the deal:  Send all the comments you want – we love to read them – but GET YOUR OWN IDENTITY! Use your own first name or make one up, but Pleeaaassssssssee don’t pose as ME or ANY of my Archie Comics Friends!

We now return you to our regularly scheduled posts…

Guess Who I Ran Into At Pop’s?

Bets had to go to the mall with her Mom yesterday, so I stopped by Pop’s just to see who was there. I saw Reggie sitting in a booth with his laptop. He looked kinda lonely so, I went over and said, “What are you doing, Reggie?”

Working on my new blog,” he said. Then he offered to buy me lunch, so – silly me – I accepted. And for the next THREE HOURS he showed me pictures of himself – hundreds of them – that he was tweaking in some computer photo program thingy. There were pictures of Reggie smiling, Reggie looking serious, Reggie reading a book, Reggie holding a puppy, Reggie playing golf,  Reggie driving his car… it went on an on!   AMAZING - I’ve never met anyone so self-absorbed!

At one point, our bloggy fairygodmother, Patty, walked in. She saw Reggie, turned around and ran right out of Pop’s before he spotted her! I don’t blame her; Reggie drove me a little nuts with his blog plans, too.

When I finally got home, Betty called and said she had a horrible day.  I said, “Tell me about it! I just spent the day with Reggie!”

I hope YOUR Sunday was better than ours!

Ronnie To The Rescue!

So, I talked to Bets last night about her birthday.  She’s been soooooo VAGUE this year! She keeps saying, “I don’t want anyone to go to any bother for ME.”

Well I say, That’s no fun at all!

So, I found out what she asked Archie to get her that day in Science lab. She told me. And I just stared at her. It’s the lamest gift idea I’ve ever heard. Seriously. It’s like a lateral move from license plate frames!

I’ve decided NOT to tell Archie.  And NOOOOOO, it’s not for the reason you’re thinking.  You guys have been giving Archie GREAT gift ideas and this one is so far under the bar, it doesn’t even compare!

So, I’ll make sure Betty gets the thing she asked Archie for… as soon as I figure out where to find it.  YOU just keep giving him great ideas!!!

Veronica

I Almost Forgot!

I can’t believe I forgot to put this in my last post!  It’s about the Straw Drawing last night at Pop’s! Do you know who won?  NANCY! She’ll be reading ALL the entries for Driving With Ethel.

FYI: Nancy took Driver’s Ed with Ethel, so she should have a blast judging this story!

Good luck to all you Week 6 Contestants!

Age Is Just A Number

Veronicafashionrules Since the first 2 issues of Bad Boy Trouble hit the news stands, there’s been a lot of talk around town about just how OLD the adults in “the new Riverdale” look!

My Dad, Smithers, Miss Grundy… even Professor Flutesnoot all look ANCIENT! I’m here to tell you that the adults in OUR Riverdale – the REAL one – don’t look anywhere NEAR that old!  And do you know why? Because they don’t THINK old.  They don’t ACT old, either.

Miss Grundy has told us more than once, “Age is just a number.” I didn’t know what she meant until I saw what happened to them in Steven Butler’s Riverdale.

My advice this week: NEVER THINK like an old person, and you won’t become one!

(((LUV)))

The Ever Youthful Ronnie

Dear Betty,

A word of advice from someone who has been there:  DO NOT leave Archie Andrews HINTS about what you want for your birthday.  I tried that. Remember?  When he asked me what I wanted, I said, “Something shiny” thinking he’d fill in the blank with “jewelry”… Well, we all know how HIS mind filled in that blank.

Betty, you are my dearest friend, so I’m telling you – Plaster a pointed message on a billboard. Or text him 213 times telling him EXACTLY what you want. Or, better yet, tell ME and I’LL make sure he gets it for you!

I just don’t want you to go through what I did on MY birthday!

Love from Your Best Friend,

Ronnie

Who Won Week 4?

by Reggie Mantle

Reggie_2 Well, I read all the stories for Black Tie Bummer and all I can say is… I will never volunteer to do this again! I would think that ONE of you would have gotten it right. How? By making ME the focus of the story! That’s the way it should have been!

But noooooooo, it wasn’t me you wrote about. It was RONNIE. Veronica is ALWAYS the center of attention!

Anyway, this is the best story by far BECAUSE it does have ME coming up with a way to blast open a boring party. Yay for me! So, Congrats to Celina for her story on the “Black Tie Nightmare.”

Blogging With The Boys

I LOVE that title.  I’m pretty sure our bloggy fairy godmother, Patty, helped Arch and Jughead come up with that one. You know how much trouble they were having choosing a name!

Yes, Archie and Jughead’s blog is now LIVE. I’m so happy for them… Now I won’t be LAST on the stupid blog traffic counter thingy.  It’ll take the boys MONTHS to catch up with me – but I don’t think either of our blogs will ever catch up with Betty’s Blog. Bets is the Blogging Princess of Riverdale! LOL

It’s okay.  I’m the princess of just about everything else.

Have a great weekend,

Weekly Story Starter #6

Veronicareading I worked really hard on this one. I think you’ll like it AND there are tons of story possibilities!  Here goes:

Ethel At The Wheel

You all know Ethel. Well, she was having a little trouble driving. She’s a pretty good driver, she just gets scared easily and when that happens… well, she heads for the nearest ditch.

Ethel

So, Bets and I decided to give her some driving pointers to boost her confidence.  No way were we using MY new car, and Daddy’s limo is too big. And Betty drives a stick, Sooooo, we used Archie’s car. Oops!

So, you tell me… How did our driving adventure with Ethel go?

Have fun!

Love,

Ronnie

Natural Zit Fighter

Veronicafashionrules I got today’s tip from Betty – so you can thank her for the great info!

I was over at her house early the other morning and she sprinkled wheat germ on her breakfast cereal.  Then she looked at me and said, “Looks like you’re trying to get a zit, Ron.” And she threw some wheat germ on my cereal, too!

It seems that wheat germ – plain and humble as it is – is an amazing little zit fighter! Bets said that 2 or 3 Tablespoons a day can really help keep pimples at bay. So now, I carry a tiny jar in my purse. I sprinkle it on cereal, yogurt and in my milk shakes at Pop’s!

One caution: If you can’t eat wheat, you shouldn’t use it!

June 12, 2007

They're at it again!

I’m not harping on the makeover thing… I’m really not, BUT I heard there’s a new post on AC Management’s Blog promoting Part 2 of Bad Boy Trouble.

Bets says we should just ignore this four part issue and move on with our lives. So, I’ve held my tongue about Part 1… until now.

I have just one thing to say about this “new and improved Veronica.” Is she STUPID? In Part 1, she rides off on a motorcycle with a moderately cute but rude, disheveled, smelly-looking guy she’s just met. AND on top of that, she buys his whole, “I’m-a-good-guy-I-just-look-bad” thing.  Come on!  NOBODY’s that thick!!!

Reality Check:  I would NEVER climb onto the back of a loud, dangerous, NON-air-conditioned motorcycle when there’s a perfectly good limo sitting right there!!!

I’m beginning to think I need to sit down and clue “My Faux Self” in on this Nick St. Clair creep.

One more thing – why did Steven Butler make my Dad look so old and frail!?!

He looks like he needs to be hospitalized.

Am I overreacting?

Archie Strikes Again!

Poor Mr. Andrews! I just HAD to tell you about this.  Do you know what sweet, well-intentioned, CLUELESS Archie gave his Dad for his birthday yesterday?

A workout video and a cook book called, Eating Healthy After 40. Can you believe it?!? DUH!

I know how Mr. Andrews feels.  I got license plate frames not so long ago. Remember?

Memo to Archie:  Do NOT buy another gift without the help of a professional shopper!

Chuck Loved His Present!

Hi, all!  I just had to tell you about Chuck’s birthday.  First, the movie.  Yeah, it was a “guy flick” but – SURPRISE! - it wasn’t dumb. It was scary and smart – usually you don’t get both! LOL Anyway, I actually ENJOYED the flick. I’d definitely see it again.

After the movie, we all went to the Clayton’s house.  Chuck had a sports themed party – NOT a big surprise when your dad is Coach Clayton.  Anyway, Mrs. Clayton had the whole thing catered – catered for 14 hungry teens INCLUDING Jughead, who counts as 4 people all by himself!

The food was too yummy – I’m going jogging with Bets in a little bit just to burn off some of those late night calories!  Everybody got Chuck a sports-themed gift.  Everyone but Ethel, that is. She got him a CD, one of those quiet nature things people listen to when they’re stressed.  I don’t think poor Ethel got the memo.

What did Betty and I get him?  I’m getting to that. Chuck recently took up kayaking. It doesn’t interest me, but Betty said it’s a blast. Soooo, WE got him a new paddle. Carbon.  It was kinda hard to wrap. Now, if you gave me a paddle for my birthday, I wouldn’t speak to you for a week, but Bets said he would love it. You know, she was right.  Chuck DID love it.  He hugged us both. Twice!

Boys. Go figure.

Have a great Saturday!

Love,

Veronica

P.S. Did you discover who has a birthday tomorrow?

June 08, 2007

It’s Somebody’s Birthday!

Chuck TODAY is Chuck’s birthday! Just thought I’d let you know, in case you want to send him a birthday wish via my comments – Chuck READS this blog, you know.

Tonight the whole gang is meeting at the Riverdale Theater to see a movie. Chuck is choosing the flick; I hope it’s a good one, not one of those lame “boy” movies with lots of car chases and explosions. Why do guys like those?

After the movie, we’re all going back to the Clayton’s house for a big party! (It’s okay - I didn’t spill a secret – he already knows about it.) I hope Chuck likes our present - Betty and I went in together and got him something that Betty says he’ll love.  I’m not so sure...

I just LOVE parties – I could go to one every week!  That reminds me. Somebody else in Riverdale has a birthday coming up SOON – like, in 2 days!  Bet you can’t guess who…

Story Contest Judge – Week 4

Wow. I don’t know what you’re going to think about this; I’m guessing you’ll either love it or hate it.

Last night we met at Pop’s to draw straws. It’s become sort of a media event here in Riverdale. Seriously. The local newspaper sent a photographer to cover the “drawing” and Channel 5 sent a news crew! We made the 10pm News!

Anyway, the winning straw went to our own Mr. Humble… Reggie Mantle.  I told you you’d either love it or hate it.  Reggie was thrilled.  He gave a lengthy interview to the reporter from Channel 5. Reggie wouldn’t stop talking! The poor reporter finally backed out the door, ran to the News van and sped away!

We’ll let you know who Reggie picks… as soon as he tells us.

Don’t Let Summer Ruin Your Routine!

Veronicafashionrules For most of us, summer is a time to kick back, sleep late, play - basically ignore the clock and do whatever we want!  Sounds like fun but having NO schedule can wreck your body’s internal clock!

If you find yourself feeling blah, getting zits or gaining weight, then put yourself back on a healthy routine FAST! You don’t want to return to school in a few weeks in worse shape than you did when school let out!

Summer Vacation

Bets and I have been counting the days until Summer Vacation starts and today it finally arrived!

School let out at 1:10. I don’t know why we even had to go in for a half day; it wasn’t like we did any work or anything.

Where did we go when school let out?  TO THE MALL, of course!!! Best place on earth to start a Summer Vacation, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Thanks to YOU, I know where I’ll be going on my summer vacation. HAWAII!!!  I want to say a big, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who voted on my Vacation Poll over at the Archie Comic Website.

Patty is putting THE VERY SAME poll up for Betty, so you can choose a Summer Vacation destination for her, too! Patty says there are some very good choices.  Of course, you know that I’ll be taking Betty with me to Hawaii – can’t leave my best friend behind on this adventure!

I’m sure I’ll be going with Betty too – unless you send her someplace remote… with snakes… and no running water. Eeewwww! You’d NEVER do that, right?  We’ll write all about our adventures in our blogs! So, click on over to the AC Website and VOTE!

Can’t wait to see which exciting place you send us next…

Love,

Veronica

Week 2 Winner!

Week One Winner by Midge Clump

Midge2 Hi everybody!  Midge here with my choice for the winner of Week 1’s Story Contest.

I want to thank everybody who entered and I have this bit of advice for you.  Please keep sending in your stories, even if I didn’t pick you to win this week BECAUSE I had a really hard time – as in, I-couldn’t-sleep-at-night - picking a winner!

It was SO hard, in fact, that I chose 2 Winners this week – that’s right, Week 1 ended in a TIE!  (You’ll never see that on American Idol!)

My picks:  I chose the stories written by Alexa AND Maria!

Alexa wrote a fabulous story and she said great things about ME. Gotta love that!  Note to Alexa:  Girl, you NEED to be a novelist and don’t wait until you’re out of college! You should start working on a book NOW!

Maria wrote the most wonderful story about being a foreign exchange student arriving in Riverdale.  Made me want to cry!

THANK YOU for allowing me to be the first EVER Judge of the Weekly Story Contest!  I hope I get to do this again someday.  Now, everybody congratulate our winners… then get to work writing the NEXT winning story!

I Love You Guys!

Midge

OH, I almost forgot! Look for this "Hall of FAME" button on the left side of the blogs (click on it) and you can re-read the winning stories!!

Archie Isn’t Gonna Like This

I checked the AC Management blog today – I know, I know, it upsets me every time I go there but I can’t stay away! – and I read their new post. Have you seen it? (Click here!)

Sounds to me like poor sweet Archie is in for a total makeover, too… and this one might be PERMANENT! Eeewwwww!

Gotta go.  Must call Bets. I know she hasn’t heard about THIS!

Love,

Veronica
