We Have A Plan!

There have been sooooo many great protest ideas suggested, that we decided not to make our protest a one-time event. All our friends were inspired by Pop Tate’s lunch special protest and have decided to jump in and help us. There’s going to be a whole bunch of a activities in Riverdale!

Here’s a list of what’s planned so far:

  • Archie and Jughead are having a car wash – I’m not sure how that helps, but they’re excited about it.

  • Midge, Nancy and Ethel are busy making “Original Betty & Veronica” bracelets. Very cool.

  • Chuck and Dilton are making bumper stickers supporting us. Chuck’s dad, Coach Clayton, is helping with the design.

  • Reggie is organizing a march for next weekend. We’ll start at Pop’s and walk all the way to Archie Comics Headquarters. Not sure what we’ll do once we get there. We haven’t planned that part yet.

I don’t know if any of this will help, but at least we’re DOING something!!!

Bets and I will keep you posted as the plans come together.

Beauty Enemy #1: STRESS!!!

Veronicafashionrules I hate stress. I know you do, too. Since the makeover was announced just before Christmas, I seem to be fighting stress ALL THE TIME. Stress effects everybody in different ways, but this is what I’ve noticed it does to ME:

  • I’m tired a lot
  • I have bad hair days. Yes, me, Veronica.
  • Even when I WANT to have fun, it’s hard.
  • I can’t seem to relax.
  • I snap at people more often, even my friends!
  • I have trouble sleeping.

So, I’ve been fighting these “stress effects”, but I decided it’s time to address the stuff that is bothering ME. Here’s my list of things I’m stressed about.

  1. The Makeover
  2. Prom is coming up. Who will I go with? What will I wear? I don’t even want to think about it!
  3. What if everyone likes “the new Veronica” better than me? Maybe they’ll only replace ME!
  4. Homework.
  5. Finals.
  6. Why do people STILL read Betty’s blog more than mine?
  7. I gained 3 pounds.

Okay, that’s enough. I’m stressed just writing this post! I’ve heard you’ll start to feel better if you address the things you really CAN do something about, so I’ll start with Stressor #7. I think I’ll call Bets and see if she wants to go running with me; that’ll help!

If you want, make your own list of the things that Stress YOU. We’ll work on our lists together!

FYI

Pop Last night a whole bunch of us met at Pop’s for an informal “Fight The Makeover” meeting. More on that later. While we were there, Pop told me something interesting. Today is actually an important day in history… especially if you own a restaurant like Pop’s, or love milkshakes.

On this day in 1833, the Soda Fountain was born. Seriously. Yeah, I know, WE didn’t hear that in school either! Probably because 1833 was a very looonnggggggg time ago… way before iPods and computers…  like back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I guess the big scalies wanted something really yummy to wash down all those leafy green trees (and other dinosaurs) they were eating. So, a clever Utahraptor teamed up with an Anchisaurus who liked to play with his food, and together they created Coke floats and cherry phosphates. Could happen.

Okay, I’m messing with you, but I thought we could all use a little break from the Makeover stress. Which reminds me, make sure you read my Ronnie’s Rule beauty tip tomorrow, cause it’s all about stress.

Now, go get yourself a big chocolate malt (my favorite) and celebrate National Soda Fountain Day! It really IS today. You’ll make Pop Tate very happy.

Love,

Ronnie

Earth Day Fun???

Okay, Earth Day is supposed to be fun, right? At least, that’s what I thought…

So, when Bets said we were going over to the Senior Center to plant trees, I thought she was talking about cyber trees, or some artsy little craft project, like hanging new sun catchers in the windows. I had NO IDEA she meant REAL TREES!

We spent 2 loooonng hours digging holes. In the dirt. I broke 2 nails. ‘nuff said. But, we got the trees planted and the Senior Center residents were very happy. (I still think we should have gone with the sun catchers.)

Then… we headed over to Jughead’s for a picnic he and Archie planned. Everyone was there! It was a blast… until Jughead fired up 6 big barbeque grills. Apparently he and Archie planned to cook burgers and hot dogs for everyone, but they’re not exactly master chefs. (Betty told them 10 bags of charcoal was too much!)

Long story short, thick smoke started drifting down the street, then the neighbors called the fire department. Three fire trucks showed up and crashed our party! By then, the flames were shooting so high that Jughead’s house was in danger of catching fire, so they shot water all over the grills and that was the end of the cookout.

Poor Arch and Jughead. They really tried, but now they will forever be known for setting a big smelly fire that choked half of Riverdale on Earth Day.

We had a “meatless” picnic – lots of chips, veggies and baked beans… and Betty’s Banana Pops, which were fabulous!

Hope YOUR earth day was more peaceful.

I’m headed to the tub now for a long hot bath… then I’ll try to do something with my nails.

Love,

Ronnie

A Countdown??!!!

You’ve got to be kidding!!!!

I am livid. AC Managment broke this news on a Friday, too, which means I’ll have to wait until MONDAY to talk to my Dad’s lawyers!

The worst part is, they’re treating it like it’s some sort of celebration or something… Like my birthday. Or Fashion Preview week in Paris! But this is NOT Fashion Preview Week. This is HORRIBLE!!!

They’ll probably trot those two faux Betty & Veronicas out for the press to see, too! What’s next? They’ll get their own blogs? I HOPE NOT!

What a lousy way to start a weekend. Bets is a mess.

Wish this wasn’t happening,

Ronnie

Let’s Talk Jeans

Veronicafashionrules I love jeans. Betty LIVES in jeans. Everybody LOVES jeans! There are THOUSANDS of jeans out there – some new, some not-so-new, and some found in retro boutiques all over the country (my favorite!) They’ve been around FOREVER. These are MY rules for wearing jeans.

Wear jeans that look good on YOU. I know everybody likes to wear low-rise jeans, but if you have a bit of a tummy (or a lot of tummy) PLEASE don’t do it!!!! Tummy “spillage” is just… EEEWWWWWWW!!

Don’t believe me? Go to the mall, and look at all the girls wearing low rise jeans that SHOULDN’T be! NOT a pretty picture!

Veronica_jeans Instead, find a jean style that looks GREAT on YOU, then make them your own! There are all sorts of things you can do to “customize” YOUR jeans. At Riverdale High, NANCY does the COOLEST embroidery on her jeans… sometimes she adds rhinestones. They are soooo cool that I took 2 pair of MY jeans to her and asked her to create something just for me. She did. Now, EVERYONE wants Nancy’s artwork on their jeans. You know what? She started a business!

Anyway, you get my point. Fashion isn’t about following the crowd and looking like a clone.  Fashion is about being YOU and having FUN!

Guest Post Today!

Hi all,

Our bloggy fairygodmother, Patty, asked if she could write a post today and I said, “Sure!”

In case I failed to mention this before, Patty takes care of all things technical for my blog and for Bets, too. We love her! Anyway, her post is below.

Bloggy Hugs,

Ronnie

*********************

Hi everybody,

Patty here with a note about bloggy etiquette. Betty and Veronica LOVE all the comments you send them and I usually read them before they do, because it’s my job to keep their blogs running smoothly - Somebody’s gotta do it!

I’ll bet you’ve noticed that in the past couple of weeks there have been LOTS of new bloggy friends sending in comments. That’s great! But I think it’s time to post a couple of Bloggy Rules so that everybody has fun AND stays safe!

Bloggy Rules

  1. NEVER ever tell anyone your whole name. Just stick with the name you post comments with. It could be your real first name, a nickname, or one you invented.

  1. NEVER ever tell anyone where you live – even if they keep asking! The less other people know about you the better – that goes for other bloggers, too!

  1. BE NICE! It’s okay to be candid and even a little cranky with Bets and Ronnie from time to time. Frankly, they drive us all a little nuts occasionally, BUT when you’re commenting to EACH OTHER, please remember that words CAN hurt. We don’t want ANYONE to have a bad time when they visit Betty and Veronica’s blogs.

We’re building a great group of bloggy friends here. Betty and Veronica think the world of you… and so do I!

Thanks for allowing me this posting space, Ronnie.

Your bloggy fairygodmother,

Patty

Wait A Minute…

This is what I want to know: HOW DID I BECOME THE VILLAIN???!!!

I’ve been trying to HELP Bets; she’s my VERY BEST FRIEND. And I thought she was mine, but have you SEEN what she did on her blog? I have NOT commented about it until today, because I was HOPING she’d come to her senses and take those wretched pictures off her blog! But she hasn’t.

So, why am I the one getting all the blame? I mean, it’s not like I woke up one morning and said, “Today I’ll be pompous and unfeeling, and do something to lose my very best friend.”

Bets, in case you’re reading… I’M REALLY REALLY SORRY.

Feeling Like A Loser,

Veronica

Now, This Is Just Silly

Okay, I know Bets has had a stressful week, but that post she wrote yesterday is OVER THE TOP! Seriously. I mean, we’re ALL trying to help her… but it’s not helpful when she just OVERREACTS!

She’s gone this weekend with her family. I’m hoping she’ll be her old reasonable self when she returns home in a few days. It is OBVIOUS that she doesn’t appreciate MY efforts…

So, maybe YOU can do better. If YOU have a hairstyle you’d like to see Bet’s wear, sketch it and send it to the website! (email it to:  badhairday2007@archiecomics.comMaybe she’ll like something YOU send in… I’m fresh out of ideas here.

Think Spring!

Veronicafashionrules Okay, sister Fashionistas, it is officially SPRING now, so time to take a look at your closet. Time to put your favorite winter things AWAY for a loooong warm-weather nap, and switch to fun clothes with bright colors!

I LOVE everything about Spring – the colors, the fabrics, THE SHOES!!! I really love the shoes… anyway, the point is, don’t let the first half of Spring slide by before you change your wardrobe.

DO IT NOW!

What’s YOUR favorite fashion for Spring?
