OMG!!!

Poor Betty!

I cannot believe SOMEONE at AC Corporate Headquarters had the GALL to plaster grotesque (and out of date) hairstyles on Bets… ON BILLBOARDS!!!!

No one at Corporate seems to know who’s responsible for this… but I WILL get to the bottom of it. I promise!

In the meantime, I decided it might be a good idea to REPLACE those icky headshots with some BETTER ONES. People are ACTUALLY VOTING on these things, and I cannot let Bets get stuck looking like a CLOWN for the next 5 years!

Reggie, Nancy and Ethel have volunteered to help me, so I’ll be busy this weekend overseeing NEW renderings.

Stay tuned…

Love,

Ronnie

EAT APPLES!

Veronicafashionrules Want to help your body stay healthy AND keep your weight under control?

EAT APPLES!

Doesn’t matter what kind – eat your way through ALL the varieties and let me know your favorites! Try to eat one of these yummy little miracle workers into your menu EVERY DAY! Your body will thank you for it.

Added benefit: Apples are a NATURAL anti-inflammatory food. That means they fight off the effects of daily stress, bad food choices, and environmental junk… you know, like when you go to school and the whole place smells like the boy’s locker room. Ewwww!

Love,

Ronnie

PS. Yes, I saw on Betty’s blog that some of you (Silver_apples and Penguin Maya) don’t like apples but if you want to be as gorgeous and healthy as moi, you must try them! :)

Glad To Be Back Home!

I slept ALL DAY Sunday. I’m guessing Bets probably did, too. I gotta tell ya, that was THE WORST Spring Break in the long history of Spring Breaks! Dad said he’d fly Bets and me anyplace we want to go when school is out, but I don’t know… I think it’ll be a long time before Bets is ready to take another vacation with me!

So, when is Spring Break at YOUR school, and what did YOU do? Details. Must have details!

Veronica

COWS

I never dreamed I’d write a post containing cows, but here it is. Beside this little airport (where Bets and I have been stranded ALL WEEK LONG) is a field. In the field are cows. Lots of them. They are mostly brown. I didn’t realize cows are so big! And did you know they have like seven stomachs? That’s what some guy here told me, but I think he was just kidding because he could tell I don’t know cow anatomy.

Anyway, the repairs on our jet will be complete this afternoon, and the weather has improved a lot. We actually saw the SUN today! So, Bets and I will be heading back to Riverdale tonight.

I am very tired. So is Bets. We haven’t actually slept all week, just cat-napped in these stiff old chairs. I will be glad to get back home…

This is one Spring Break I will try to forget.

Love,

Ronnie

Beauty On The Go

Veronicafashionrules Travel can really wreck a beauty routine! I don’t care how you travel – by air, sea, or open road – it really makes you tired! Add to the mix different food, water and environment, and they all work together to STRESS YOUR SKIN!

It’s important to stay with your beauty regimen, but when you’re traveling KEEP IT SIMPLE! No need to take the contents of your entire bathroom with you, just the stuff you’ll need to keep your skin looking and feeling GREAT while you’re gone!

If you have a beauty shortcut, I’d love to hear about it!

Delay

This is sooooo NOT how I wanted to spend my Birthday!

Daddy’s private jet was diverted last night because of bad weather to some little airport I’ve never heard of.

Wait. Gets worse! A little red warning light came on when we landed, so we can’t take off again until a mechanic checks it out.   So, Bets and I are stuck here – wherever HERE is – with absolutely NOTHING to do!

A mechanic is supposed to look at our jet in an hour or two, so I’ll let you know when we get to New York.

Like Bets says, it’s just a game delay… not a wash out. I’ll keep you posted.

Love,

Veronica

Okay, It’s My Birthday

I did not want to make a big deal out of it because… well… that whole Valentine’s Day thing. You remember. ‘nuff said.

By some strange twist of fate, today also happens to be the first day of SPRING BREAK!!! No classes at Riverdale High all week!

So, where do I want to spend my Spring Break/Birthday week? No, silly, NOT the beach…LOL

I’m going to New York City! Dad’s flying me there this afternoon on the company jet.  Bets is coming, too! I couldn’t go alone… that would be boring!

Bets and I will be spending the entire week in the most exciting city in the world, shopping, eating out, shopping, seeing shows, shopping some more… you get the picture.

We’ll be posting from our hotel all week! Stay tuned…

Leprechaun Hunt Update

Shamrock_3 The Leprechaun hunt was a hit! We had soooooo much fun!

Reggie, Chuck and Nancy were on “my team”, but we all pretty much stayed together, so it really wasn’t like we were officially COMPETING. First we all went to the Riverdale Park because Reggie said he heard there was a leprechaun spotted down by the river.

I was wearing my Manolo Blahnik heels and I wasn’t about to get grass stains on them, so I stayed in the car and talked to Nancy. I was also the official kazoo player for our team, but I dropped it and it rolled under the seat, and after that I wouldn’t play it. It was on the floor of Reggie’s car! Ewwww!

Here are the Hunt Highlights:

  • Jughead ate all of his team’s thin mints before they reached the Park, so they had no leprechaun bait.
  • Moose found a moldy old Twinkie in his car’s glovebox, so they used that instead. It was so gross, even Jughead wouldn’t eat it!
  • Dilton turned up with a grungy old ballcap that he fished out of the River and tried to pass it off as a real Leprechaun hat.
  • Ethel slipped on a rock (while trying to retrieve that same ball hat) and fell into the River.
  • Jughead saw her fall in and fished her out, with the help of Archie and Moose. Of course, now that Jughead “saved her life” she REALLY adores him! Poor Jughead. (Truth is, she only fell in like 2 feet of water!)

Anyway, the hunt ended just before nine, when Betty chased something into the woods - which turned out to be a skunk! It turned around and chased her back out! You should have seen everyone running back to their cars; Bets was waaaay out in front!

Looks like we started a new tradition in Riverdale last night; we’re going on a Leprechaun Hunt every year!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Love,

Ronnie

1st Annual Leprechaun Hunt

Shamrock_2 Okay, I don’t really believe in leprechauns, but it IS a great idea for a party… especially on St. Patrick’s Day eve, don’t you think? It was actually Reggie’s idea; I just helped him with the details.

Tonight, the whole gang is meeting at Pop’s around 7 o’clock. We’re splitting up into 4-person teams, and scouring Riverdale for Leprechauns. Each team gets a canvas bag, a kazoo (Reggie says they like kazoo music) and a package of thin mint cookies to use for bait.

At 9 o’clock, we’ll all meet at the Riverdale Cinema with any leprechauns we caught. (Of course, there won’t be any leprechauns, but driving around town pretending to hunt them for 2 hours should be fun!) What we’re actually gonna do is catch the 9:20 movie… a scary one, I think. I’m not sure.

What do leprechauns look like?

Well, according to legend, Leprechauns are Irish fairies. When fully grown they stand about 2 feet tall. They dress like shoemakers – don’t ask me; I have NO idea what shoemakers wear. They also wear a crooked hat and a leather apron. Okay, I think we all agree that leprechauns are seriously fashion-challenged!

Leprechauns look like grumpy old men. They are unfriendly, live alone and can vanish into thin air. (So they need a COMPLETE personality makeover, too!) One last detail  – every leprechaun has a hidden treasure… a pot of gold, which is why we are hunting them!

Leprechaun hunters (that’s us) are supposed to listen for the sound of a shoemaker’s hammer. If caught, the leprechaun must reveal the location of his pot of gold.

I’ll let you know how the hunt goes!

The Voting is Going Great!

Thanks, Sister Fashionistas, for all your votes AND your comments! It’s been wild around Riverdale High this week – we had tests in like 4 classes! – so, I’m behind on my blogging.

Betty has been SWAMPED with people at school giving her hair style advice.

Some like her hair long, some want her to try it short.  Midge cut out pictures from a fashion magazine for her to look at, and Ethel suggested she get a perm. Yesterday, I noticed Betty came to school with her hair stuffed up under a ball cap and she wore it that way all day. I don’t know what that means…

Anyway, I love the comments you left ME, too… especially the funny ones about ME changing MY hair!  LOL You are tooooo fun!

Keep voting!

Love,

Ronnie

Get Out The Vote!

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock the past few days and didn’t notice, there is a NEW POLL up on Bets’ blog!

Saturday, I talked to Patty, our bloggy fairy-godmother who handles all things technical for Bets and me, and SHE suggested that an impartial poll might be a great way to help Betty… you know, move into the 21st century and decide how to “update” her hair.

Patty did her voodoo and the poll is up! Click on over to Betty’s Blog to view the choices, then VOTE!!!

This is sooooo exciting!

Have a great week!

(((Hugs)))

Ronnie

P.S. TO REGGIE MANTLE: I know you read this blog, Reggie, so don’t even think about “stuffing the ballot box!” Patty will know if you vote more than once!

It’s Working…

You won’t believe this! Bets and I went shopping today and SHE actually suggested we drive by a couple of hair salons! We didn’t stop, mind you, but we drove by… and THAT’S SOMETHING!

AND I caught her looking at her reflection in store windows as we walked through the mall today. BETS! Once, she wasn’t watching where she was going and she ran right into Miss Grundy, who was shopping for shoes at the old lady shoe store! I ask you… is there anything uglier than orthopedic shoes on old feet?! I’d love to see Miss Grundy in a pair of heels. Just once! Oh well, one fashion challenge at a time…

Keep leaving Bets hints, My Sister Fashionistas, cause it’s working!

Love,

Ronnie

What Does Your Look Say About You?

Veronicafashionrules Today, I want to talk a little bit about the look you choose for yourself. Does it really fit who you are? Or maybe it fits who you are… but not who you want to be? Everything you wear – your clothes, your hair style, makeup, your accessories – EVERYTHING says something about you! What does your look say?

  • I SO want people to notice me!
  • I am fun to be with.
  • I’m planning to be a librarian.
  • I don’t know who I am.
  • Quick! Somebody help me!
  • I am young, confident and I know where I’m going.
  • I don’t like me. You won’t either.

You see where I’m going with this. Go look in your closet and see what your clothes are saying about you. Ask a friend to help you “decipher the message” if you can’t figure it out yourself. If your clothes, hair and makeup are sending a message you don’t want… it’s time to change them!

Now That You Mention It…

The Mall was a wash – No Imposters.

Once again, I am not surprised. I mean, if I were those two “Faux Us” I would NOT want to meet Betty and me face to face. That would be like looking in a mirror and staring at… PERFECTION!

So, I’ve been catching up on all the comments you’ve been leaving me. THANK YOU for each and every one! Then, I decided to click on over to Bet’s blog and see what’s going on there.

I noticed that some of you have been giving Bets gentle hints about her looks. That’s great!  I’ve been trying to do this FOR YEARS but Betty doesn’t always listen when I tell her; maybe I’m too subtle. Like Sunday at the mall, I tried to get her to come with me to try on some new spring shoes, but she wouldn’t budge from the sporting goods store! Sometimes I really worry about her…

Anyway, I loved the comments you made about her hair. (I think she SLEEPS in that pony tail!) I think you might be onto something…

What do you think?

Love,

Veronica

So Far, So Good

Just a quick post today.  I’m on my way to the Riverdale Mall to meet Betty, Midge and Nancy

Yesterday, we spent the entire afternoon at the mall, waiting for those Betty & Veronica IMPOSTERS who were rumored to be making an appearance.  But, they didn’t show up.  Big surprise.  All we saw was a group of amateur tap dancers from the Happy Feet Dance Academy.  They were pretty good… for preschoolers… but whoever did their costumes really needed help!  Absolutely NO fashion sense!

Anyway, I’ll let you know if our “Makeover Imposters” show up today.  Believe me, I’m ready for them!

Gotta run -

Okay, I’m Confused

Image1

My photographer friend sent me these pictures. They’re posted over at the Archie Comics Website, but he wanted to make sure Betty and I had them, too.

This is a picture of my boss.

Here he is this past weekend at the NYC Comic Con. Betty and I ADORE him! He has been our biggest fan since… FOREVER!!!

No matter how busy he is, he always makes time to talk to us about whatever’s on our mind. I would say, without question, that he is one of the GOOD guys… I’m sure he is… I mean, I don’t think HE’S the one keeping this stupid Makeover thing alive!

He would never do that… at least, I don’t think he would.

Okay, I’ll worry about that later.

Image2

I’m not so sure about these people. I know them socially, but we’re not that close. I don’t THINK anyone here has a reason to want to change Betty and me… but still… you never know.

We’ll keep digging until we get to the bottom of this!

Love,

Ronnie
