I’m Okay… Really

So, it’s taken me several days, but I think I have come to terms with the fact that I’m just not as popular as Betty.  It’s okay, I’m a big girl…

Reggie says that I shouldn’t be surprised – people sometimes don’t know how to deal with perfection; I guess he is implying that I am PERFECT! I’d take that comment seriously… if it hadn’t come from Reggie. You know what I mean.

Anyway, maybe Betty IS more approachable than I am, (Nancy told me that) and Chuck very timidly suggested that she is sometimes NICER.  Boy, did I yell at him for THAT remark! Maybe Betty’s more interesting – no, that can’t be it.  Bottom line: Bets has more visitors than I do. I’ll just have to deal with it.

I would like to thank EVERYONE who left me a comment. Even Debra. I would also like to point out that I was mentioned in The Purse Forum. Okay, technically, we were all mentioned, but I was mentioned by name and - this is important – I am Caitlin’s FAVORITE resident of Riverdale!!! It is an honor to be noticed by such a widely known and respected blog for fashionistas!

I would also like to thank Andrew McGinn of the Springfield News-Sun for writing about our new blogs and the horrible Makeover.

So, you see, while I may not get the traffic Betty does, important people DO notice me.

I Don’t Know What To Think About This

So, today at school Nancy comes up to me and says, “What are you going to do to make your blog as popular as Bet’s?” And I was like, “What?!” And she said, “Betty has more visitors than you.” Up until that moment, I didn’t even realize Patty had put visitor counters on our blogs! 

So, I checked it out myself in study hall, and found that Betty’s counter DOES show more visitors than mine! Then I called Patty to see if there was some technical glitch – obviously this MUST be an error – maybe I got a faulty counter! But she said everything was “working properly” – there is NO ERROR!

I don’t know what to say… I mean, I don’t want to sound like a snob or anything, but I always thought that everybody liked ME best!

I’ll be back later. I’m gonna lay down now…

Don’t Be a Slave to Fashion!

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… “Ronnie, how can you say that? You wear the very latest EVERYTHING!”

Oh, contraire… I am a Fashion SETTER, not a Fashion FOLLOWER.

Let me explain: Do NOT go our and buy a whole outfit by one designer. If you do, you are little more than a mannequin, a walking advertisement for some clothing company… and who wants to be THAT?!

DO find ONE little thing you LOVE – a belt, a purse, shoes, jeans - just ONE thing, and then make it your own! YOU decide how to wear it, when to wear it, and what to wear it with.

If you follow this simple RONNIE RULE, you will never go to a party and see someone else wearing… (GASP!)… the very same outfit you are!

The Cheer Is A Hit!

Okay, Sally asked for a report on the basketball game with Greendale, so here goes. This is soooo exciting!

During the first half of the game, I ran through the new cheer Luna wrote with the RHS Cheerleaders, just to make sure they really had it down. Of course, they had to dash onto the court every few minutes to do a little cheer for the team - that was annoying - but it turned out okay.

At half-time, they took center court and started with that same tired Riverdale High cheer they’ve been doing all season. It’s a yawner… THEN they did the new Anti-Makeover Cheer. I was soooo nervous! The whole gym got quiet. I mean, NOBODY TALKED - they were just watching.  When it ended, the crowd was silent for like an ETERNITY. Then all at once, everybody jumped up and started applauding!

This went on for 2 whole minutes! Then REGGIE ran onto the court and lead the whole crowd in the new cheer! They repeated it 3 TIMES!!! It was deafening. Even the fans from Greendale joined in!

I caught a glimpse of some of the guys from Corporate Headquarters in the crowd. Let me tell you, they DEFINITELY NOTICED the cheer AND the overwhelming response it got from the crowd!

Maybe THIS will change their minds!

P.S. Oh, yes… Riverdale High won the game by 1 point in double overtime… I think… I wasn’t really paying attention. But Betty said it was a nail-biter to the very end!

Ronnie's Beauty Tips!

Okay, I hear this all the time, “Veronica, you are SOOOO pretty! How can I look like you?” First, thanks for the flattery - I LOVE it! So, I was talking to Betty about this, and she suggested that I start a regular feature on my blog. Betty has such great ideas! So here goes, this is my very first tip:

Take Care Of Your Skin!

• Drink tons of WATER – not diet soda (YIKES!)
• Make sure you get plenty of SLEEP – I do!
• And get outside for some FRESH AIR every day.

Hey, if you want to LOOK like a princess, you have to TREAT YOURSELF like one!

Send me YOUR best tip for great-looking skin! I’d love to hear it.

Thanks for the Comments!

Hi everybody! Hope you are all warm and snug. We’ve had some winter weather in Riverdale this weekend and I’m really tired of it; there’s not enough snow to sled on or make a proper snowman, but just enough to make the roads nasty. You know what that means – I couldn’t go to the MALL!   Oh well, I think I’ll survive.

I wanted to thank EVERYONE for their kind and supportive comments – Marinda, Polly, Alexis, Sally, Clarissa, April, Daniesha, Ginny, Comic Girl, Sarah, Megan, Mackey, Melody, Sarah and Danielle, you are THE BEST!

Oh, and thank you, Luna! She wrote a right-on-target Anti-Makeover Cheer! I’m going to teach it to the Riverdale High Varsity Cheerleaders this week. Wonder what kind of a reaction it’ll get at the basketball game Friday night?

Keep Those Comments Coming!

Hi everybody!  I am in a very good mood today.  I happened to be over at Archie Comics headquarters after school, and do you know what they are doing over there?  Reading YOUR comments about the makeover!  Boy, are they getting an ear full!!

I’m including a few “choice words” that ALYSHA shared in her note to Management.

HOW COULD YOU DO THIS!! Archie has looked great for years and years and years and now you have gone and made him HIDEOUS!!

I'm 20, I still read Archie because it's cute, it's funny, and it's something short that I can get through whether I'm super tired and laying in bed, eating a meal, or at work in the middle of my job!  I love Archie's simple style of drawing!  It's what makes me attracted to the comic! 

Why would you do this? WHY WHY WHY!?!  I don't think you will attract a bigger audience with this horrific redesign!!!  I promote Archie to everyone I know, I've even stoped reading Cosmo because I found that everytime I read it, I wish I was reading an Archie comic.

This Is NOT The Way To Start A New Year

Okay, I have been waiting to post some good news regarding the planned makeover for Betty and me, but I must tell you, THERE IS NO GOOD NEWS! Honestly, why won’t the Corporate guys just let this drop?!

Dad’s lawyers have scoured my contract, but they couldn’t find a “no alteration” clause that protects my looks. So LEGALLY, the AC Comics “Powers That Be” could redraw me as a Tibetan Yak! Gee, I hope they don’t decide to do that!

Dad even talked to the Publisher himself, but nobody at Corporate is willing to budge. They seem determined to change the way Betty and I look! Today, I was so upset that I think I failed Miss Grundy’s pop quiz. Me. Veronica Lodge. FAILED! That has never happened before.

There is one small bright spot. Our friends have all been SOOO supportive. Poor Archie doesn’t know what to say, so he just smiles a lot, which is kinda weird… but that’s my Archie! He never was very good with words. Reggie has been a lamb, too. You know, as bad as he sometimes is, Reggie is always around when you need him!

I’m gonna get a manicure now and try to de-stress. I’ll post more later… Until then, keep those positive thoughts coming for Betty and me! The year is young. It’s got to improve – Right?

A Brand New Year!

Wow! I can’t believe another year has gone by. So much happened to us in 2006, most of it good. The not-so-good we’ll deal with next year…

I just want to thank ALL of you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness, your friendship, and for reading about our lives! Life in Riverdale wouldn’t be much fun if we had no one to share it with.
